Terri Charles

Terri Charles (CrossFit coach, aspiring athlete and Mother of two)

Terri is a fit and healthy Mother of two (Max and Levi). The older of the two boys (Max) can be seen training and frequently beating the adults in the CrossFit classes. Terri has recently undertaken an Internship at Soul Rebel Athletics and will be a part of our Coaching Team.

Terri has been involved in fitness for many years previously coaching clients in CrossFit out of her garage gym. She is a great athlete in her own right and has aspirations to make it to the World CrossFit Games eventually.

Her desire to improve and constantly learn new things has bought her to Soul Rebel Athletics and we are proud to have her on board.

CrossFit has opened Terri’s eyes to a new world of possibilities. Terry says “I have met some amazing people seen some amazing feet’s of determination, courage and fitness and its blown my mind. There is constantly so much to learn, its very exciting and makes me believe anything is possible”.
Terri plans to never stop learning and CrossFit methodologies enable her to stay motivated and keep that focus at the forefront of her life. She says it helps her motivate others to become the best they can be.

In her own words Terri says “Every WOD (Workout of the day) empowers me to believe that if I can get through that WOD I can get through anything in life and putting that into practice makes my life and my family’s life so much better.

Terri’s advice to anyone is to give CrossFit a go and get involved with the community, its a life changing decision and the best you will ever make.

Tell us a bit about yourself, your fitness/sport background and how you found Soul Rebel Athletics? I Have been a Personal Training for several years now primarily training clients from my garage gym. A couple of years ago I heard about CrossFit through a friend. Then I started personal training with Ben in a health club where he introduced me to CrossFit training and methodologies over a year ago. Since then CrossFit has taken over and I have fallen in love with it. This training is amazing, pushing yourself to the limit every time, you find new self respect for yourself! The challenge to master every move is fun and rewarding but what sets CrossFit and Soul Rebel apart is the community.

What are your training goals? To work on my weaknesses, primarily focusing on building strength and power at the moment. by the end of the year I want to conquer muscle ups and handstand push up without and abmat.

What areas of fitness are you most knowledgeable and passionate about? Being a mother of two I can relate very well to women and mothers, I understand the time management pressure a Mother can have but also know the great results and motivation training can bring to your world. I am also very passionate about kids and kids fitness.

Favorite WOD/Result? So many to choose from! Too hard but “Helen” is definitely up there.

Favorite lift and weight? Power Clean & Jerk. I think my PR is 57.5kg

Favorite exercise and some tips/pointers? Olympic Weightlifting, get some coaching and be patient :) Kipping pull ups, Its just fun to be swinging around on a bar.

Best song to train to? For WOD’s house and dance beats. For weightlifting “Bogan rock bands”.

Favorite non Paleo food? Beer, Oops can I say that! Chocolate, I am a women after all!
